Gear Review

I started reviewing the equipment list provided by Peak Freaks and decided to sell some of the items I currently have before purchasing new items. I was able to sell a set of Crescent Moon snowshoes on Craigslist to a local gentleman. He purchased them for his daughter to use on a winter camping trip. It was nice to see that a young girl would get to use them.

Today I am packing for a short trip to Georgia with George. We are going to ride the Southern Cross race course for some winter training. We will be returning there in February to participate in the race.

I completed the registration forms, signed the liability waiver, and made out a check for the $1000 deposit to send to Peak Freaks. So I'm going to Nepal or I just wasted $1000.
Well, I finally made a commitment to a climb in 2013. Instead of committing to a specific climb, I have registered for a Mt. Everest Training Climb in Nepal with Peak Freaks. This should provide all the skills I need for an 8000 meter peak in the near future.

Cho Oyu Climb Application

I made an inquiry with International Mountain Guides (IMG) and Rainier Mountaineering (RMI) about when they will begin booking 2013 Cho Oyu climbs. No response from RMI, but
Eric Simonson at IMG indicated the end of 2012.
